Viewing platform 250 m above the ground
Beneath your feet, the 250 meter vertical rock face of the Hunerkogel. Around you, incomparable mountain panoramas. Welcome to the Dachstein Sky Walk, the most spectacular viewing platform in the Alps! Right there at the mountain terminal of the Dachstein Glacier Lift, you will experience one-of-a-kind views, both below your feet as well as around you in every direction. Even though you might have a few butterflies in your stomach, the Dachstein Sky Walk is absolutely safe. Here, you are also greeted by a footpath around the summit terminal, treating you to the imposing sight of the Dachstein south face as well as the most beautiful peaks in the Alps.
A mystical world of ice and snow
The Dachstein Ice Palace leads visitors into a mystical world deep inside the glacier. Created in 2007 with the aid of professional ice carvers from China, the Ice Palace – with its figures carved in intricate detail, ice pillars as well as the Crystal Dome – is a source of unfailing astonishment, year after year. Special lighting effects and music add to the atmosphere of the Ice Palace. Right by the entrance, visitors even have the opportunity to immortalize themselves in a guestbook made of ice. The Ice Palace is located barely a 3-minute walk from the mountain terminal and is open daily.
A sunrise on Dachstein Glacier is an impressive natural spectacle. Sunrises are especially beautiful when watched from the Dachstein Sky Walk and from the comfy Dachstein "beach baskets". After you have partaken of a lavish breakfast in the Glacier Restaurant, you will be reenergized for even more Dachstein experiences. The sunset rides on Dachstein Glacier Lift are also highly recommended. Marvel at the glorious play of color and the astonishing atmosphere as night falls over the Dachstein. Registration is required.
Please note that, from May to September, you will have to reserve your gondola ride in advance.
